With the use of 2 CFD software applications, the performance of the Venturi Blade Fence was simulated against its baseline airfoil blade. The NACA 63-412 airfoil was used for the blade models, a common airfoil for wind turbine applications. High Reynolds numbers were used for testing. In modern wind turbine applications, Venturi Blade Fences result in a lift increase of 1.7-2.2% with an AEP increase of 1.2-1.8%. This shows that Venturi Blade Fences offer incredible value for wind turbines and that this technology will disrupt the wind energy industry.
