With the use of 2 CFD software applications, the performance of the Venturi Blade Fence was simulated against its baseline airfoil blade. The NACA 63-412 airfoil was used for the blade models, a common airfoil for wind turbine applications. High Reynolds numbers were used for testing. For 2 meter long blades, the average lift increase was between 3-7%. For 4 meter long blades, the average lift increase was between 2-4%. Using the 4 meter long blade data, in modern wind turbine applications, this would result in a minimum power output increase of 2.5 - 2.6 percent. This show that Venturi Blade Fences offer incredible value for wind turbines and that this technology will disrupt the wind energy industry.
